#9 a fairy tale wedding

Most girls dreamed of a magical wedding... (I know I do)
Where she'll be the princess
and the man of her life.. as prince charming.
Dancing beneath the stars, in a dress she'll forever hold on to..
Now that dream can turn into a true  fairytale reality.
Wedding dress designer, Alred Angelo understands that dream.. therefore he teamed up with Disney to create a Fairy Tale Bridal Collection. This collection is expected to hit stores early next year.

Styles are inspired by classic Disney fairytale princesses like Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and much more! Giving you a wide variety of choices.. allowing you to be that princess you dreamed of in your childhood dreams. It will make your wedding a unforgettable fairytale story.
Let that sparkly glass slipper be yours <3

#7 not just a treasure trunk...

We see fashion everywhere, in every way. The way fashion is being presented to us nowadays have so much to do with the growing power in consumers & the continuing advancement in technology. This goes back to my earlier blog entry titled, "No Ordinary Fashion Show" although now lets focus on another form of fashion presentation that seems to be a growing interest with designers & consumers. It's what they called, a trunk show.
wHaT exacTly is a tRunk shoW?

It is a special fashion event in which an artist or designer puts on a special display of his/her newest collection for viewing to a selected group. A designer will basically travel around with a trunk of merchandise to present their new styles for an upcoming season before they are made available to the general public.

This way benefit designers and consumers at the same time. Designers can save money by not throwing runway shows that cost at least $50,000.. while the consumers have the opportunity to preview the collection and meet with the designer.

Bridal trunk shows are on the rise, especially between the months of January & May. This is an advantage to brides as they have the opportunity to view a larger selection of bridal gowns.

Trunk shows are not just used for fashion.. we're also seeing a growing number of trunk shows being used for a wider range of products/merchandise such as jewelry, home accessories, furniture, & even chocolate!

weekend wordrobe

On days where the weather decide to play games.. are days where you have to dress smart and be ready for whatever tricks it pulls on you. Lately in the city.. the weather has been very inconsistent. Could be 70 degrees today.. and before you know it.. it dropped 30 degrees.

Stay warm and look your best. Here is how I wear one top.. in two different ways.. prepared for the warm and cool weather.
Blouse & Skirt: Forever21
Tights, knee-high socks, leg warmers are all good ideas during days where rapid changes occur

Blazer: Urban Outfitters - Shorts: Hong Kong

Chilly ? Adding a blazer and a pair of boots.. you can't go wrong with that.

If you have any Fall looks to share with us.. please do (:

Stay warm this fall <3

#6 No ordinary fashion show

Nowadays what the customers want & need is key to what we see in the fashion industry. Therefore designers are stepping up a notch to reach their demands. Fashion shows normally means a catwalk to display designer's new collection, although fashion shows are no longer ordinary shows.. now giving you something real different and creative.. that can blow you away.

Diesel's Spring/Summer'08 Preview Collection in Florence, Italy. It takes us on a fashion journey like no other. They claimed that it's the first catwalk show with real models with holographic models.

Vena Cava's Spring / Summer 2007 fashion show, at Bryant Park
Theme: "Splendor in the Grass"
This is another way to present a fashion show.. showcasing a collection by having the audience walk through while the models give them a glimpse of the whole setting that the look is trying to convey.
Fashion Designer Mychael Knight, from Project's Runway Season 3 knows how to make his fashion shows stand out. Knight's fashion shows are held at very interesting places/events such as this one.. at a Starbucks Coffeehouse when showcasing his Summer 2007 collection. He also had held shows on charity events, museums, etc.

This is Marc Bouwer's Spring 2010 Fashion Show during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
Its is a very bold, powerful video fashion show.. can be just or even more exciting than an actual catwalk show.

Unique forms of video fashion shows are on the raise.. what you'll see next is hard to guess.

What's your take on the new outcome of fashion shows?

I see stars.. in my room

This entry is an oddball, different from my other posts. Instead of fashion, I thought I'll give you a tour of my new room. It's now complete, fully renovated. Let me share with you the place where my ideas and creativeness comes alive.. my room (:

Memories..  are forever.
I enjoy collecting tickets, stickers, buttons, key chains, and miscellaneous objects. Although recently I build an obsession with POSTCARDS (:

What do you like to collect?

#5 Garden Party

So far this fall, we're still seeing color selections from a very natural palette, such as nude and blush. At the same time we're seeing many bold and bright colors such as red, orange, and purple. Color is not just color, it's a key source of inspiration, according to fashion forecaster, Paul Pelssers.

Let's talk about spring now.. this is my inspiration when it comes to talking about color trends for...
Spring 2011
Floral prints and bows has been a big trend for the past spring seasons, although we're expecting that to come back for next spring.. more subtle and soft.. yet feminine and girlie.

Forver 21

Shades of blushy pink and peach
We will continue to see more floral/rosette prints for all ages

Although shades of natural will still be a dominant color for Spring 2011

 Display at Macys' Flagship Store

#4 Falling in love... with RED

The color red represents power, determination, passion, desire, and love. We have already seen that color made its way up in the "beauty trend" category (especially red lipstick & nail polish)... now we're seeing more and more of red hitting the runway.. hot and fierce to the extreme.

Fall/Winter 2010/2011- Runway looks from Versace, Versus, Giorgio Armani, Stella McCartney, Rochas, Sophia Kokosalaki, Pucci, Chanel, Gucci,, Prada, etc.

  Elise Overland Fall '10 Collection

It will be moving into Spring season as well..

D&G RTW Spring 2011

 Current displays at H&M

Going red, is a bold move and a big step away from all the nude, natural, pastel-like colors we've been used to seeing for awhile. Although red is not fully accepted just yet.. it's a color that takes time to adjust to. From what we see now, it seems very possible that by next fall, red will be more widely accepted, a color that might just be the key to Fall 2011.

Whats your take on red?
